Pictures from the snow event late November 2010 into December 2010

Picture on left of shallow freezing fog forming over a five inch snow cover, late afternoon on November 28th, 2010. The snow cover increased dramatically over the following 2 days - picture on right is the scene in the back garden by the afternoon of December 1st, 2010 with over 1 foot of snow lying

And now the scene a few days later on the 7th of December, after a slight thaw then a tremendous and disruptive snowfall on the 6th of December 2010 which brought all transport infrastructure to it's knees in Lanarkshire for a few days.

Firstly the scene on a typical street in Wishaw, temperature -12ºC mid-morning 07/12/10. Note the atrocious roads!

Icicle city on the left, these are small compared to some I've seen when the camera wasn't handy. And on the right - the anemometer is looking pretty chilled out!

Down to the local woods and here we see examples of trees that couldn't bare the strain of the weight of snow and ice.

The local river is beginning to freeze over on the afternoon of 07/12/10

And now the stunning scene looking back into the valley, kids have been using these slopes to sledge on, the snow is 16 - 18 inches deep.

Here's a car that won't be moving for a few days

The following is from an area where the snow has drifted quite badly. Probably 4 or 5 feet deep.

And now some truly stunning landscapes to round off. Hope you have enjoyed this glimpse from snowy scenes in Wishaw.
